As a writer, author, artist and illustrator, my purpose has been and is to create a quality product that conveys a message to the heart as well as the imagination of my audience. Through the stories that I write for children, I strive to inspire them to use their wishes and dreams to infuse their inspiration and explode their imagination into action to create new ways to be all that they can be in life. As a poet and writer, I want you to see what I see, hear what I hear, and feel emotion to the depths of your soul. In my art and illustrations, I hope that you can see a clearer image of what I write, and encourage you to look forward to the next image with anticipation. As a songwriter I want individuals to share their innermost passion for each other and for their lives. I have several more children's books waiting to be published at this time, and many more poems and songs to present to you soon. As a religious artist, may I glorify our Father and his Son, Jesus.
Born and raised in Indiana, I spent most of my life as a resident of both Madison and Grant Counties. I attended Summitville High School (now Madison-Grant) and Indiana University Kokomo. I have been employed at the Marion Fisher Body Plant (GM), Purdue University Horticultural Department as a USDA Inspector assigned to the Red Gold Plant, Orestes, at Carey Services as a case manager and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, both of Marion. My writing and art have always been my passion and is now a reality. Now retired and living in Florida, I am married to Robert G. Denton. I have five sons, seven stepchildren and twenty grandchildren. I am blessed!
While attending Indiana University, Kokomo, my creative writing project, A Hero's Legacy was chosen and presented for Celebration of the Humanities for the year 1999. Step families Magazine has published my short story, FISHING FOR LOVE, and my poem Mother's In Training can be found in Theater of the Mind, Nobel House Publishing of New York, London & Paris. This poem was also presented on the Sound of Poetry, International Library of Poetry along with the sounds and music of other Poets which was released on CD and cassette. Another poem, Love Again, was published in Whispers, American Poets Society. Holding Back These Tears, lyrics for a song was runner up and received Honorable Mention in December 2007 Song of the Year contest.
