We had trained for the battle
Through many such as this.
Lungs screamed in brave terror,
Remembering love’s last kiss.

Blazing through roaring thunder,
Raised weapons pierced the air,
Defending my country’s honor
Our brotherhood was there.

The impact was felt by many,
No pain as lightness left.
Body crimson with life’s blood,
I exhaled my last breath.

The battlefields are empty.
Distant trumpets play our song.
Folded Flags to wives and mothers,
Freedom is flowing strong.

Though forgotten by many,
Some won’t forget our names.
Our Flags parade with honor,
Democracy is our fame.
